Chicken week!!! Review Tyson brand Chicken Nuggets

This week we will exploring a childhood favorite, Chicken nuggets. How can one devote an entire week on a series of reviews on chicken nuggets? If you have taken time to browse down the frozen frozen aisles , you would have noticed that there are literally whole refrigerator units filled with chicken products. From this we get the chicken nugget section and the plethora of variations of this classic treat. But now that you are an adult can you stand eating chicken nuggets day in and day out without getting sick? We start out chicken week off with the original oval-shaped nuggets. This review will be the standard that all other chicken based products will be judged against. To keep reviews fair we are limited this week's segment of reviews on Tyson branded chicken, so difference in taste are due solely to the preparation method of the chicken.

Cost: Tyson branded chick nuggets cost $7 per bag not on sale, $5 per bag not on sale, and 2 for 1 sales are not unheard of. I usually regularly buy bags of the stuff for $5 each; more often then not Target has them on sale. For $5 you get a 29 oz bag, 9 servings of 5 nuggets at 270 Calories per serving. Do some number crunching and every 50 cents is about 250 calories of chicken nuggets, which is actually comparable to top ramen which is 350 calories per 50 cents.

Taste: It taste like chicken, there is not really anything overly distinguishing about chicken nuggets. What is particular to chicken nuggets are the texture, shape, and mouthfeel. Chicken nuggets are juicy and soft. The chicken nuggets are lightly breaded one won't notice the starches. What one's mouth will notice is how moisture the chicken flesh is. The chicken is packed packed in such a way that is not small enough to be bite sized but not large enough that one would need utensils to eat them; a good two bites will finish off a chicken nugget. Tyson-brand chicken, not necessarily all chicken nuggets, are soft and chewy, unlike other crunchier varieties. And the softness, chewiness, and juiciness all add up to make chicken nugget a stimulus more for the jaw than for the tastebuds. Chicken nuggets are just fun to eat.

Longevity: As much as chicken nuggets are fun to eat, weeks on end of eating chicken nuggets diminishes the experience almost all together. One stops notices how chicken nuggets feel after having  stuffed so many in one's mouth. And there is a reason the default taste is chicken, because chicken is bland, and chicken nuggets are especially bland. There is nothing distinguishing about chicken nuggets in the first place so after a week one's is not growing more fond of the stuff, one is just getting more accustomed to eating the same thing. But that a mixed blessing because one never really gets sick of chicken nugget, if one was already good with the stuff. I have eaten chicken nuggets years on end and all I have to do to keep myself downing the white meat is to add some ranch once in a while.

Nutrition: Assuming a standard 2000 Calories a day diet, at 270 Calories a serving, there is 14% daily intake of Calories per serving. But also 26% Saturated Fat and 20% Sodium per serving. Saturated fat and Sodium are hard to limit in a diet, especially in a diet high in processed foods, but these level are still better than ramen, and its so far one of the best foods for you. At 13% Cholesterol per serving that not ideal, but its still when the daily tolerable limits set out by the government. It's up to the comsumer whither these contents are acceptable.

Conclusion: Chicken nuggets make a fair meal, with pricing compairable to even top ramen. Over time one appreciate how varsitile chicken nuggets can be. This will be one of the few tiems that I will actively champion a product.
